I got a Magnaflow installed a couple weeks ago. I have read from several people on here that it gets louder when broken-in. How many miles would you consider it to have been broken-in? Right now I have put about 500 miles on it and don't really notice a difference.

No. What is that? When I drove home from getting it installed I parked in my driveway and my back wheels were really hot and smelled weird. I was a little worried at first but it went away pretty quick.

It's just the insulation oils n such breaking in. When the smell goes away its about half way there to being broken in.

If your rear wheels are getting abnormally hot then you need to check your brakes.

I don't think there's a set time or mileage to verify it has gotten louder. What i can tell you is that one day after having my catback installed for a little while I thought to myself "Wow, has this gotten louder or is it just me?" It could be 1000 miles or 1 year, who knows. But it will certainly get louder.

About 10 years ago I lent my car to my girlfriend, when she brought it back from the visting her friend in Jersey (180 mile round trip) she tells me "I need to bring my car to the dealer that my brake light is on". Turns out she didnt take the E-brake off! I wanted to strangle her.....lol
