so i just swapped my 2004 gmc yukon with a engine out of a 03 tahoe. runs greats only thing i noticed is its got crazy high oil pressure if i go wide open it will peg the oil pressure gauge. running down the road it does 60 psi all day long. i bought this engine used off facebook was told its stock. looked stock. so anyone seen thing before. did i get something? bad or a gem any help is appreciated the engine is the 5.3 flex fuel engine forgot to mention that

Could be the sensor maybe but my 00 had a solid 72-74 psi
Only way to tell is a mechanical gauge and compare or a live data scanner and get some voltage readings to compare.

I wouldn't worry about it, just keep on truckin'...
If you feel inclined, hook up a mechanical gauge as @OR VietVet mentioned.

my 05 has 60 cold starts, 40 hot idle and and 70-80 wot.

As a former owner of several Caprices 9C1-LT1 I happen to know that there is a 60psi sender, and an 80psi sender.
We would typically replace the 80psi sender with the 60psi sender, for finer resolution,
often without altering the gauge display.
Now that I think about it, I might just do that to my Z71 ...
