Hey im wondering how much i would need to upgrade my tranny for a stage 1 trick performance turbo kit. I was thinking roughly 40 pound injectors, and hoping i could keep my stock fuel pump any input is appreciated

750 for stock 4L80, you mod crossmember and wire harness, Pay to tune it.

Dont mod the 60. it a waste.
your going turbo, you WILL turn up the boost.
the 60 Blows under stock conditions.

80 or nuthin..

idk where people get this BS from where its bad to mod the 60e. spend some money and get a proper built unit and it will last. ive had my FLT level 6 65e for almost 2 years now. its got probably 50 mid 12 second 1/4 mile passes on it and tons of street abuse. ive done a few AWD burnouts at the track also. ive seen this same trans run mid 11s probably 100 times in different trucks. even one guy ran 10.8 with a FLT 65e.

edit : keep in mind the 80e is heavier and robs power. it also has a very long first gear so you will need some power to get your truck going

There are modded 60/65's that'll hold 650+hp...not being able to build a 60/65 is a myth.

A few companies, like FLT, specialize in them.

BIG LOL on that one....

we are not on a camaro forum, you have a heavy truck that weighs about 3 camaros. a 4l80e is a must have with the weight of these vehicles. Im making a honest 400+ hp and cant hold a 60e for shit. you want dependability, not 20-30 runs down a track.

I run a 4l80e in my 01 tahoe, with a vmax infront of it, and a 3800 stall converter. and just drove cross country with it, pulling a 85 suburban!!

also remember a 80e is not bullet proff either!! LOL

LOLLL are you serious? learn your facts before filling someones head with useless information. i run the shit out of my truck and it weighs in over 5500 lbs and will run 11s this year. i have probably 100 passes on my 65e. 400 crank hp? funny cause mine probably makes mid 500s and i run a 65e.

a stage 1 80 will handle all the power that stage 6 60E will and not think twice about it.

theres a drastic price difference between the two.

Facts are fact: fact of the matter a 60e is a weakling. Take a poll. Count experiences not just yours

I am dead serious. Take it from one who has owned over 5 SUVs that are heavier than your truck. 4l60e is a car tranny designed by GM. GM also designed a tranny for a truck. It's called a 4l80e! That's why they put a warranty behind it.

I broke too many built 4l60s and with a junkyard 80e it can hold more power than a so called built 5 or 6 level 60e.

I'm not trying to lie to someone or even stupider convince someone their 60e hold behind a turbo. Lol

If 1 or 2 people getaway with a 60e, it's luck. It's a numbers game. I rather know that 50 people who run junkyard 80e that outperform a 2000$ so called built level 10 4l60.

It's physics power and weight. Simple. I broke too many of them. Heck they were designed to hold less than 410 ft lbs of tq.

Better yet build a built 80e and let 1500hp rip to the wheels and be reliable somewhat.
Sorry but too many people fall into the build it right crap. It takes about 8 times after a failed 60e to finally say I'm going to give a 80e a shot??

I much rather reliability and the loss of a few hp.
