is it pretty common or rare? i'm still fighting with the short thats blowing my right signal fuse. i can't find anywhere where the insulation rubbed off unless it's inside the loom that holds the wires together so i'm thinking it might be the circuit board. i read one blog where some guy said that's what it was with him. it's weird because i can troubleshoot it..think i have it fixed and the next time i drive it's blown again. the last time, i took a bulb out of of the right side rear tail light, replaced it and all was well and then it blew again so i'm really hoping that's where it is. i bought a replacement off ebay. i got my fingers crossed.

I've had two go bad, it is not uncommon. but keep in mind these trucks are now 10+ years old, this stuff does go.

tailight circut boards

I replaced mine , replaced bulbs, cut and replaced the wire harness pigtail.... after much aggrevation it ended up being the pin in the circut board was loose. SO CHECK THE PINS BEFORE YOU TAKE DELIVERY FROM PARTS STORE!

Also bulbs will be melted to the resistor board. Have you pulled it out yet to check it?

yeah i bought some off ebay for $29....even if they're cheap quality...it seems like the ones from GM are "cheap" because i've heard of people replacing them SEVERAL times, so i'm not about to spend $70 or so each time. we'll see what happens when they come in.
