How to adjust drum brakes (no access to adjuster)

I started a thread about this earlier. those 10" drums are horrible. I did see that people were grinding the lip off the drum (not to be done to a new drum, just the old ones). This allows the brake shoes to slide in better to the true mating surface. Still not great way to adjust these.
