How to disable hansdfeee lift gate sensor?

I've taken down some of the suggested fixes and will approach my dealer. Part of my frustration is that it never works when I want it to and always seems to work when I don't. I can walk up to the truck with my hands full and stand there waving my foot around like a ***** and nothing happens. BUT, the moment I start loading something in the back, the darn thing almost always comes down on me. I just want to turn that one feature off - not the rest of the features. It just shouldn't be that hard.
