How to find a good used motor?

I mean if your positive the motor is junk and you want to replace it then drive it home.

if you post your rpo list we can tell you what exactly it is and what will work easy, or what can be made to work easy with a tune.

but most motors will swap in and you just may have to reuse your accessories, intake/tb ect. ( worst case)

In case it isn't clear, you aren't restricted to just Tahoe engines. You can get them out of any GM vehicle that came with a similar engine to yours. Trucks are likely your best bet. Also, if you are going to lay out some dollars, might consider going with a 6.0... Finally, as others have said, watch the outlets like Craigslist, FB Marketplace, OfferUp, etc. for partouts. You can often find running engines to which you can listen yourself that you can then just swap into your rig.
