Mine had never come off. I'd imagine they could get torn off, after all they are a sticker, but if you wipe the area down before applying, I don't see you having any issues...

So that is probably going to be the solution to the last gold bowtie I think is on my Tahoe (after I get rid of the ones on the wheels later this week), and that's the ugly little one in the center of the steering wheel. Looks like I have another thing to do on the Tahoe.
Haha, yeah me too! I was just running out of things to do, too.
Those blank center caps do not appear to be an easy item to find. I made my purchase from Direct Performance Wheels ("direct" is the name used on eBay) and bought four knock-off plain polished aluminum wheel caps for OEM 20" wheels. Of course the polished aluminum look is really plastic, because GM took the cheap route, and the knock-offs knocked off GM's cheapness.
I'll post an update when I receive the items as far as fit and finish.
