Mine had never come off. I'd imagine they could get torn off, after all they are a sticker, but if you wipe the area down before applying, I don't see you having any issues...

So that is probably going to be the solution to the last gold bowtie I think is on my Tahoe (after I get rid of the ones on the wheels later this week), and that's the ugly little one in the center of the steering wheel. Looks like I have another thing to do on the Tahoe. :)

Haha, yeah me too! I was just running out of things to do, too.

I believe that's the one that goes with an air bag, so unless you're willing to have a costly repair on your face, uh, I mean hands, the application will need to be done without removing it from the steering wheel.

Those blank center caps do not appear to be an easy item to find. I made my purchase from Direct Performance Wheels ("direct" is the name used on eBay) and bought four knock-off plain polished aluminum wheel caps for OEM 20" wheels. Of course the polished aluminum look is really plastic, because GM took the cheap route, and the knock-offs knocked off GM's cheapness. :D

I'll post an update when I receive the items as far as fit and finish. :)

I received the four knock-off's today. A picture is shown below. The color match is excellent. The fit is fine. The workmanship isn't near as good on the side which is out of sight when the wheel caps are in place on the wheels. Whether that presents a problem five years from now I don't know. The fact is GM spent as little money as possible to make cheap, poor quality wheels caps for OEM tires, and I doubt their OEM wheel caps would look any better after five years.

I'm glad I made the purchase. My Tahoe looks even better now. :)
