How to install aftermarket amp bose system?

I have a 2007 Yukon, it has the bose system but does not have the navigation type radio. I want to keep the factory bose amp and subwoofer that is under the console. I want to add a custom sub box behind the seat and add an aftermarket amp. I can hook everything up just fine I just need to know where and what to use to tap into the speaker wire behind the factory stereo behind the dash. Crutsfield says to use some kind of line splitter/line convertor. Does anyone know what wires behind the stereo I can tap into, Im looking for the rear left or right speakers wires.

adding an aftermarket sub amp to the factory deck is difficult since it doesnt have the pre outs (rca outs) you have to use one of these i think heres a link

now the problem with what your doing is your going basically going to have two different types of subwoofers so your going to have to play with the frequency cutoff on yer aftermarket amp so you dont get overlap

I had this same problem in my 08 truck if you pull the part that holds the cup holders out. It just snaps in to the center conceal and there is a 4 wire plug that that is for the subwoofer I unplugged the factory sub and then spliced in to the wires with a line output converter. Then ran the rcas to the amp and it worked great. Sorry to say I don't remember what color wires did what but 2 are positive and 2 are negative. Hope this helps

where did you mount your aftermarket amp?

can someone take picks of the wires that need to be spliced into for the LOCs? I think it would be beneficial to this thread and every DIYer on this forum who wants to do a stereo upgrade (like myself )

Don't use a simple RCA converter. Use something like this http://www.audiocontrol.com/car-audio/factory-system-upgrade/lc2i/ That way your bass will not fade when you turn up the volume. Also, for speaker colors, google it You will find it

where to people mount there aftermarket amps. is the stock amp for the bose system a multi channel amp, or does it only control the subwoofer?

how are the speakers, aside from the subwoofer, powered with vehicles equipped with the bose system?

you don't want any of that speaker wire sub adapter crap.

You want the module that goes directly behind the radio and hooks into the pre outs from oem radio.
This is plug n play and gives best sub outputs next to a aftermarket radio.

can you comment on the aftermarket amplifier location, or how the rest of the speakers for the cars equipped with the bose setup are powered?

Is there a separate amp for the rest of the speakers?
