How to keep fog lights on automatically?

Any time my headlights come on my fog lights come on. The relays are triggered by a ground and this just jumps a ground wire from the relay for the headlights to the relay for the fog lights. Here's the thread

Maybe the OP can check to see if his 2016 can be done the same? Also, like Brandon asked, I was wondering if this was something that could be programmed in the BCM. But, due to some state's laws, I guess they really wouldn't have any reason to make this an option in the programming. Besides, a couple bucks in wiring and terminals beats ~$100 in dealer service fees any day.

Hi, brand new here and picked up a 2016 LTZ Suburban last week. In my prior car (Honda) with auto headlights there was a separate fog light switch. I could leave the fog lights switch in the "on" position always and the headlights switch in "auto". Then, whenever it was dark and the low beams came on, the fog lights came on as well.

Is there anyway to do this on the Suburban? No real functional reason, I just like the look of the fog lights on and don't want to remember to push the button each time.

Given it's illegal in a large number of jurisdictions to drive with fogs on in the city I don't believe this can be achieved. I've always pressed them on and actually got a ticket about 15 years ago for driving with them on. It was day time too!

Where the heck do all you guys live getting tickets for having fog lights on? I've never heard of this in all my driving adventures. If it was a light bar or high-mounted auxiliary lights I get it. But not factory style fogs.

Here in Norway its illegal too use foglights with lowbeam, but i can use them with drl/parking light. Improper light use is fined with approx 250$

I bet it's a ticketable offence where you live too. Not well known but you typically can't have fogs on in the city. Highway only. Light bars fall under the same category.

Maybe Norway or Canada but I've never ever heard of anyone in the USA to get ticketed for something as ridiculous as having fog lights on. Fog lights work best with low beams on, it would be dangerous to turn your headlights off in fog at night, and fog in the city is just as dangerous as fog on the highway. Fog lights are aimed down low as well, and don't interfere with other drivers ability to see. WTH?

In Ontario it's not illegal as far as I know of. I have allways drove with my fogs on and I see a ton of people around here drive with them on. So it must legal. This taho is the only vehicle that they don't stay on. Kinda a piss off. But I am buying the fleece part to keep them on. For $20 well worth it

I'd be on the shit list in Norway- I have a full-time DRL mod, full-time fog light mod, and 4 high mod so my HID's never shut off when high beams are activated, as well as switchback LED's in my front turn signals which stay pure white until the turn signal is active. Plus my DRL and fogs are high-lumen LED's. LMAO.

It seems someone on another truck forum figured this out on their 2014-15 Silverado by using the diode between pins on the BCM under the dash. I'm going to try it on my truck and post the information here if it works.
