Heard some squeaking while taking a u turn yesterday sounded like an old hose faucet handle being turned.

How can I lube the steering system and the suspension? Is it time consuming? Hard?

Some joints have zerk fitting which require a little tool to inject grease into the joint but it might be a better use of time to identify the speak and addressing it directly. I would hate you spend all the time to grease everything you can and still have a squeak

Not sure only heard it a few times. Did a few more sharp test turns to make sure. Seems to have gone away for now. I know the shop was listening to my steering pump one time and said it could be changed. But it steers just fine and never made noise until yesterday when taking that U turn. I don’t got $500 to replace the whole pump. He just said the pulley sounded a little rough.

Check The suspension components properly. Usually parts dont just creak. Probably a worn ball joint. 14 Tahoe will only have fittings in the outer tie rod ends unless ball joints were replaced.

Not sure what exactly to check. How can I inspect?

Jack the vehicle up under the control arm. Lay under the car and have another person take a bar and lift under the wheel at 6 o'clock position with their hand on the 12 o'clock position and push in while they are doing this. See if there is any play in the ball joints. Next hands at 3 and 6 position slowly move wheel left to right to see if there is any play in tie rods.

Please, don't lay under the car when it's on a jack! Use safety stands before getting under it.
