Hello,
Wondering if anyone knows the answer to this. I plan on getting the HT383E for my 99 Tahoe. I would like to install a set of roller rockers and was thinking of putting on 1.6 rather than the stock 1.5 ratio. I have scoured the web and some say they will fit, others say that the push rods will rub and the head will require work.

Too bad they didn't have rollers in there already since the cam is a roller. I'm thinking this will give a little more life into it.

Thanks

yea, you may have to check to make sure the 1.6 doesn't change it enough where the pushrods run the head. Some you have to elongate the pushrod hole.
why not full roller 1.5's? Like the Comp Pro Magnum?

More questions need to be asked if you plan on running the stock Vortec heads. If the answer is yes than is the cam stock? The real concern about adding the 1.6 rockers is the rocker studs themselves...press fit from the factory wont provide a lot of confidence if you plan on revving the motor much at all. Should really add 4130 push rods too, Beehive springs maybe (in stock form bad things will happen if you go over about .480 lift)...and tall valve covers to clear em. Don't forget that them rockers need to be self aligning (read more. $$$) as well.

Settled on 1.5 full rollers from Scorpion. The work involved getting the 1.6's to fit is not worth the expense. I'll be satisfied that it will be a full roller valve train. That should keep the timing perfect. Ordered the HT383E from Fred Beans for $4450. It was the lowest price I could find. It will be here in a few days. Can't wait!
