Was finally able to top off the Freon and install the Deslugger yesterday.

I’ve been hurting for over a week now. Sciatica and pinched nerve. Started last Monday morning. I don’t recall doing anything that would have caused this pain, but it’s always the stupidest things that set it off. I crawled to work last Monday and of course the midnight guy called off and the 2 day guys didn’t answer their phones to come in early so I got stuck working from 3pm until 6:30am Tuesday morning. I took Tuesday afternoon off because I couldn’t get out of bed. I made it to work Wednesday but when the midnight guy knew I was hurt and still coming in, I guess stepping on his opportunity for OT covering for me, he took his Thursday off so I had to stay for 12 hrs on Wednesday. Thursday I only worked 8, but I was dying. Friday I worked 3pm until 7am Saturday morning just to piss off the midnight guy and keep him from any OT. That hurt me bad! I was in hospital by Sunday, couldn’t stand up, hard to breathe and was just miserable. Got a steroid shot in my ass and sent home with muscle relaxers and pain pills. Tried like hell to get out of bed on Monday but couldn’t do it. I literally was flipping around like a fish out of water when my back would seize up. I had to flip over on my stomach and slide backwards off bed onto my knees to get up to pee. So I took yesterday, Monday, off too. I had to get up yesterday and move if I wanted any chance at getting past this back pain. That’s when I finished charging ac and put in deslugger. I made it to work today after going to Lockport High School and registering my son for his freshman year. Been a crazy week. Still hurting but I keep moving.

Friday during my 16 hr day I started working on something for the Esky. I’ll post pics but I didn’t finish so you’ll have to wait for the completed project to see how it looks. Just a teaser.

I get sciatica once in awhile, but nothing as bad as you get. You're a trooper for sure.

I used to have sciatica (pinched nerve) on and off for years. It was always on my left side and I'd be fine for weeks then twist a certain way stepping out of the shower or something and it would be back. It got real bad a couple of times where I could barely move or even get up from a laying position and went to the hospital and was given the same as you, muscle relaxers and pain pills. I eventually bought an inversion table to try out, and twisting/stretching while hanging on it a couple minutes every other day and my sciatica is gone. It's been about 5 years, and it was a great feeling to not have that constant pain running down the back of my leg that I had gotten so used to feeling all the time.

A few times I had it so bad, my body actually twisted a little. I looked like a crooked noodle, even tho I thought I was standing straight.

I’m about there, getting on the table. I bought the wife an inversion table years ago to help her back and she hated it. It sat under the bed for months til one day my buddies wife was saying how her back was hurting all the time. I brought that table over to their house and she loves it. Isn’t constantly in pain anymore because if it. We took a trip to the Smokey’s a couple years ago, dragged our bikes down to ride the tail of the dragon and we even threw the inversion table in the trailer so she wouldn’t be hurting after all day riding for a week. She was mad and embarrassed at first that we did that but was thanking me every day we were there for being so thoughtful. I might have to buy another one, there’s no way I’m gonna pry that table away from Lora now.

I’m also gonna get a regular maintenance schedule with chiropractor. I can’t have this happen anymore. I over did it yesterday at work and was hurting so bad all night, barely slept and now back at work again for more abuse. Seems like I get this once a year. Usually in January or February from shoveling snow. It’s the twisting motion that sets it off I think. It’s horrible. I’ve been blown up and set on fire, had shrapnel from a air hammer chisel go bullseye thru my left eye and broken almost every bone at one time or another and I can honestly say, this back spasms rate up there with collar bone and pressure inside eye socket. I’ll do anything to keep this from happening again.

Looks like a beautiful cabin. Can you still see out of that eye?

Depth perception is a little off. The piece of metal went right thru pupil, cornea and lens. Bounced around inside my eye but didn’t go all the way thru. They removed my lens, it’s like a bag of fluid which felt like silicone running down my face, and sewed up my eye. Had an acrylic lens transplanted and with scaring I have about 40% vision in that eye.

Still down due to back pain. Been struggling but still pushing thru it going to work. This room has been my savior 3 times now.

Thursday spent 3 hours there hooked up to an IV. They missed the first 2 times and now I have a good bruise.

This sucks. Had to get my brother to do my yard work, my best friend is going in at 8am 2mrw for bypass surgery in his leg and I’m suppose to go clean and disinfect his house in the morning and then help him home on Tuesday. Looks like I’m gonna be cashing in some favors from other friends.

But enough about my pity party, the reason for this post is to fill you in on what I was doing with that hydro dipping.

For those of you that remember, I hated this sticker that she put on.

I was trying to get something a little more manly like a Harley thing or the Willie G skull. I gotta give her credit because even without me bitching anymore about it, she did change it.

And even this one isn’t staying, she’s got some other idea that she’s doing on her vinyl cutter. I’m getting side tracked but it ties into what I did.
I bought that appliqué for the lift gate off of @LanceD to replace the ugly one that’s on there now. (Thanks again Lance)

I scraped off the center circle, removed the emblems from it and then superglued a plastic weld rod to the back to use as a handle.

Then I sanded and painted it.
c0d64fa55c815687c25d04e48aea032c.jpg

Put water in my small dipping tote and got it to correct 90* temp for dipping.
b58b66c68dd5ee84ed7955d62d284aee.jpg

Taped edges of some carbon fiber hydrographic paper I had. I’ve had this roll for probably a year or more. When I sprayed the activator I had the air pressure too high so it kinda blew the paper apart but I figured it was only a back drop so it shouldn’t be that big of a deal. So I dipped.
32f555fcb9919f56da8bc4b7bb7702f2.jpg

It wrinkled like crazy! Oh well. I’ll just sand it again and start over. Let it dry, sanded it again and repainted it. For some reason it blistered and looked like complete crap. So I traced it onto another piece of 1/8” plastic I had and cut a new circle, drilled holes for emblem location pins and painted that one. Did the dip all over again and it came out decent.
Figured I’ll get a picture after I clean it and clear it. After I cleared it, the carbon fiber print was gone. You can’t even see it. I’m not sure if the paper is old and bad or the activator is the problem but at any rate, that kinda sucked after all that.

Reapplying 3m double sided tape I put the emblem back on and then added a new emblem for the center.

It’s not attached to the appliqué panel yet, I still have to do my wrap and black out the panel. I found that Willie G skull while searching for a part for my bike and when I put it next to the Cadillac emblem, it just had to go there. She don’t know it yet, but it’s staying regardless what she says.
