I'm taking a break from my black 2014 with the dead AFM lifter and accidentally bought another 2014. I love it! It was a semi-local Sheriffs Dept unit they claim was used to transport prisoners. It appears to have been upfitted with some stuff but not the whole meal deal. I went and put some 2023 PPV 20" wheels on it today.

If I had those.. I'd be thinking.. lower it and put new PPV 6 pots on there..
Mind telling us what a set of those go for?

No I actually love the way it sits but yeah I'd love to figure out how to add the 6 pots. I really want to put new struts and shocks on it first though. I am leaning toward the silver Bilstein front and rear. Are they a good fit for these Tahoes?

I don't want to lower my truck either.. But looking at those wheels would make me want to!
If you're talking about bilstein 5100, they seem to be a popular upgrade.. Thought I heard the rears might feel a little stiff..

Ah ok. I'll do some more reading. One thing I noticed is, the searches for shocks keeps turning up the option for NON Police shocks, LT, without Autorode etc.

I didn't think the PPV were any different in regard to the shocks. I just thought it was autoride or not?

Looking at rockauto, there seem to be a good number of rear shocks that say 'except police package'. So I'm guessing they have shorter shocks...
Perhaps some lowering shock extender brackets?

Looking at rockauto..

PPV rear shock compressed length is 15.66" extended 543mm
Z71 rear shock compressed length is 15.66" extended 606mm

Looks like it's just the droop. Short spring might unseat if too much extended length I guess..
63mm.. 2.5"

So, I took her down to a tuner I know and had him tune the trans and delete AFM. Hopefully it buys me some mileage on the AFM setup. I installed a full floor console up front and she's getting a new windshield in the AM too.

If you're talking about bilstein 5100, they seem to be a popular upgrade. Thought I heard the rears might feel a little stiff.
1. undersized tires / smaller sidewalls means the wheel / tire 'package' itself is stiffer.
Nutro, it's wearing 20" wheels now? Obviously they ride a bit stiffer than the 16" or 17" that it was wearing previously, no?
If you want it to ride a wee lil bit softer, how much more rubber - as in taller tire, for more sidewall - can you fit in those wheel wells?
(Admittedly, 2nd & 4th pics make it look like you don't have room to go taller?)

2. If you want better handling, you DEFINITELY want 5100.
I personally prefer Caprice 9C1 / PPV handling, and am disappointed in myself for buying the 4600 set.
4600 work well, for what they are - they are NOT meant to improve handling / responsiveness.
If you want better ride comfort, you want the 4600 set
