So took the first long trip where i needed the Google nav. Hate it! Takes forever to load route. Freezes up. Between this & my radio presets moving, the radio cut out upon startup, google taking way to long to load up to recognize voice commands, etc., etc., GM could have done much better with the infotainment system.

I agree 100% - That is why I keep my trusty Garmin DriveSmart 61 in our Yukon, never fails. GM should never have released such a buggy infotainment system.

Totally agree that infotainment is slow, buggy and annoying. Google should be embarrassed to have its name attached to such a half-a$$ed system.

Anybody have any luck with dealers recognizing the problems? Just wishful thinking

Have you tried using Apple CarPlay or Android Auto? Somebody mentioned that there’s been a few updates to the system since released but the overall consensus is that it’s not great.

I hated the new Google GPS system too until I figured out how to use it. Now if I save locations on my phone, when the Bluetooth connects, it is all there. Everything including maps loads faster than the system in the 2016 that I traded and is much more accurate for routing around construction which is a huge problem this time of year in Michigan.

What satellite map system does waze use?
It’s user based I think.
Users have tokens on device that allow Waze to analyze real time traffic conditions and suggest best routes based on average travel speed of users moving on alternate routes

I also dislike the OEM system bc it took us up an off-road mountain 1 lane gravel road. I had to get out and direct my wife where to drive bc we almost got stuck.

A few years back i had borrowed my dads garmin for a trip up into the up of Michigan, and used it to get me somewhere once up there, and it took me off of the state route, amd ended up on a logger "road" for about 20 miles, and i ended up back on the highway after the 45 minute side trip. So that isnt necessarily an oem issue.
