Okay folks,
I recently replaced both my mirrors with aftermarket ones from 1aauto on my 04 tahoe Z71. They were actually the same ones that were on the truck - apparently they had been replaced in the past. I believe it came with the "fancy," mirrors, curb lighting, power fold, and even turn signals. Those mirrors are out my price range.

Here is the deal though:

I have the DIC (I believe) set to not adjust the mirrors. However, now they will adjust down if I leave the switch in center position, or if I leave it on one side or the other it will adjust that mirror. It usually adjusts down, but sometimes up!

I hate to wear these things out so quickly because I have to re-adjust daily.

Is there a wire I can cut, or some secret voodoo in the DIC that can turn these off. Its gotten so bad that I have seriously thought about towing mirrors that are manual this summer.

I'm not sure if this pertains to your problem, but I know on mine, I can program mine to point down when I back up so they show how close I am to the curb.

I think in the DIC it's something like curb view setting.
Also, if your mirror is going up just put it in reverse and then adjust that mirror where you need it then put it in park and it should change the mirror positioning for when you put it in reverse.
Or if that curb view setting continues to move your mirrors even when turned off just adjust your mirrors(while in reverse) to where you would normally have them and they won't have to move at all.

I will give this a try - thank you!
