2WD and 4WD pitman arms are different. What application is yours.

Yes, you will need the pitman arm puller!

I know I need SOME pitman arm puller and that the pitman arm itself is different for 2WD vs 4WD. I am 2WD. I don't think you rreally read the question lol

This is a special pitman arm puller. I am asking if i need THIS one, even though I am 2WD. So do i need this special $60 puller for both 4WD AND 2WD, or does the "normal" puller i can borrow from auto parts stores work for 2WD? From what I've read, alot of people used this puller because of alack of clearance, but they all had 4WD...

You can rent any pitman puller from an auto parts store and simply pull the steering box bolts temporarily to get the puller set up and yank off the old pitman and install the new pitman - takes a few minutes extra. The puller you have linked to will work without pulling the steering box but it'll be a slow and frustrating process. Bring a paint marker to make dang sure you install the new pitman right, too. It's not hard with a regular puller... you just should use an impact to get it done easily when the steering box is not mounted to the frame.

Do NOT buy the Moog or Proforged because neither of them (same casting, for sure) seat on the steering box sector shaft spines down enough and you'll throw your wheel alignment and drag link alignment off. Believe me... I've gone through all of them and sent them all back and consequently have done this job three times finally settling on properly made AC Delco parts at significantly more money. The Moog and Proforged were sent back "under warranty" because they weren't made right. Also don't get the Proforged idler arm... mine was so stiff it bogged the steering. Sent everything Proforged and Moog back, actually. Just baffles me they cannot produce parts that meet factory specifications. I didn't have duds... I see the same complaints elsewhere online.

Anywho... not a hard job. Just a frustrating one.
