I'm new here, but I need a write up on a shock install please.

They were factory on my Tahoe. When I replaced them years ago, I installed Edelbrock IAS shocks and have been very pleased with their performance.

... man some of ya Tahoe guys are real douche bags. You KNOW that's now what I meant *******.

This might be easier for you since you are so kind, I will give you very detailed directions on what to do.

1)get keys to the truck
2)walk to truck
3)unlock door
4)get in
5)start truck
6)drive truck to a mechanic
7) have them do the work
8) pay them to do an easy job that you should have not been a douche bag about in the first place and looked at just how easy it was by opening your eyes and looking at the truck.

Hope that helps, oh yeah welcome to the site.

Ps: jokes happen, try at least looking at it as I stated earlier. We have no problem helping people but would you look at a door and ask how to open it? As Bad Bowtie said, a couple bolts on each and it is done.

Here's a pointer for the top mount of the rear shocks, a long extention with a U joint and a ratchet will make it a little easier

How do you open the fuel door? Can't find the release button anywhere.

i just did this to my 97 yukon

jack the vehical up and secure it on jack stands

remove tires ( front or rear which ever axle your doing first )

the front shocks are held in place by a bottom and a top bolt w/nut

i had to use lots of PB blaster on mine and an electric impact

remove the old shock and replace with the new shock

for the rear it was a little more difficult becuase the lack of space and the :supergay: retainers gm used on the bolts

but basically there are 2 bolts in at the top of the shock ( 14mm i believe ) , if you snap the little retainter clip you will have to get your tinniest cousin/child/or kid from your street to get there hand in there cause there is zero clearence for man hands and, clamp on to the back half of the retainer clip with vise grips and try again

this didn't work for me si o got out the dremel and cut the bolts off and replaced them with a new nut and bolt

the bolt on the rear axle is again a PITA lots of PB blaster and impact wrench

put your wheels back on torque them to spec and enjoy your new shocks

I did mine with out taking the tires off or lifting it up. The fronts are a pain to do though. It's an hour job.
