In need of a dual inlet glasspack

Ive searched and searched and i cant seem to find what i need. What i have right now is a stock 99 5.7ltr 4x4 4dr tahoe and there are a couple questions i have along with my main one. First i cant for the life of me find a dual inlet single outlet glass pack from anyone and before you go bashing glasspacks i grew up with them and its what i love always have (pleases the redneck in me) and second i need to know what is the size of the pipe going into and out of the stock muffler. i plan on just doing a cut and swap along with adding a nice little exhaust tip.

Thrush sells a dual outlet glasspack that can be reversed to make it a dual inlet. I believe stock piping is 2.5" but you'd be better off measuring.

You have to be careful reversing some of those, they make the holes like fish scales, smooth one way, turbulent the other way.

The stock muffler is dual 2" inlet, single 2.75" outlet, 24" body length.

i had a shop make me a Y that goes into the muffler. i think they might sell them online as well

I gave up on trying to find one so i ended up finding the y-pipe and all the fittings i need i ended up going with an 18" long 2.5 in/outlet cherrybomb i wouldve preferred thrush but the didnt have what i needed i also wanted to get a nice little exhaust tip but damn all the ones that looked good god awful expensive and were weld only which i cant do and the cheap ones were ugly as hell and bolt on i *** looking for a clamp on but oh well. Another question all im doing is removing the muffler and replacing it is that gonna effect my engin cause i had a mechanic friend of mine say that the vortecs need the back pressure for the valves is this true?

Unless you have de-cated it you will not have a problem

If you effectively change the exhaust flow characteristics with out proper tuning your engine may act say like the cam profile has been changed.
