yup, tuned and new gears, but that would normally help around town I'd think, less lugging the engine.

that's what I thought too which surprised me a bit...

100% in town driving here. 2003 5.3 and I am around 11-12 MPG (hand calced).

I cleaned the air filter, MAF, TB, replaced PCV, fuel filter and ran Seafoam in crank case, and a Lucas product in the fuel. Verified tire pressure, took the roof cross bars off, put them back on, changed fuel brand, changed oil with synthetic and it pretty much stayed the same. Plugs and wires were replaced with OEM three years old and should be just fine. There are no codes.

I was chasing the elusive 13, 14, 15 MPGs reported here but it just isn't going to happen for me. I think it is all in driving profile. My trips are short and I live on a hill. if i was 100% flat driving, I bet I would see a 1 or 2 MPG difference, but the Tahoe just devours fuel driving up my hill every single day.

as Bruce Hornsby once said: That's just the way it is.

Im going to check mine on this next tank but seems like its going to be low. my 08 5.3 was only good for 12 or 13 so I dont have high expectations

in my last truck i was getting between 12.8 and 13.5 in the city, running 87. New one I run 91 and I'm seeing about 14.3, after 4 fillups.

I just did mine its not bad mine came right out.. the worst part is you need kind of smaller hands to unplug the plugs because they are in a very tight spot on the drivers side.

and im in the same boat 11.5-12.5.. ac/no ac doesnt matter driving habits dont matter it just always is that. ive cleaned maf changed plugs wires front 02 i guess maybe fuel filter will be next.
