I been looked at the cat back system I just could not spend that kind of money for it.

For my 2001 Yukon XL 4X4.

I had a local Muffler shop cut my stock Muffler out and weld in a Flowmaster 70 for 195.00 OTD.

Single out I was thinking of going with duals the shop wanted $325.00 to do dual tail pipes single muffler.

The per Fab system you can buy are nice but pricey if you want to save a lot money go to you're local muffler shop and have them build you a system for half the cost.

I just hope I will pick up a 1 or 2 MPG more.

Wow. That's a little on the pricey side, bro. I wouldn't go back to them in the future.
How do you like the sound of that 70 series? I'm trying to figure out what route to go on my Denali. I don't want it loud at all. I want it to be just slightly more audible and deeper than the factory exhaust note.

What would you guys think is a fair price for the muffler and labor? Considering having this done myself.

First the Big Block 70 Muffler is a little more pricey than the other mufflers I wanted the 50 Big block muffler he did not have one.

I think the muffler alone was $145.00.

It has a rumble but not loud on the outside you can here it on the inside but very mellow at Hwy speeds just cruising you don't hear it much at all you put your foot into it yes you hear it come to life then again very mellow what I was looking for.

I want to pick up some MPG so far I have not seen any difference in MPG 1 or 2 or better MPG would been nice.

For me the stock muffler sound was fine the plan was trying to uncork some HP and MPG.

The shop I always go to he backs his work up and fantastic work he done all my cars put a full system from headers back on my Built Corvette 3.5 all the way back to the Bora Mufflers I will not go to any one else.

That price isn't out of line by any means. Flow masters are generally $80 and up mufflers. I had one installed about 7 years ago, it was a 40 series Delta flow, new pipe back from the stock Y merge, new tailpipe, big stainless tip, bill was about 250. I thought that was fair.

Muffler shops vary greatly in price based on location. A shop reselling a 70 series for $145 isn't as bad as you think, that is Flowmaster's MAP pricing and most shops charge more than that. I know what our local shops by a Flowmaster 70 from me at and at $145 resell, they aren't making a lot of money off of it.

Update I been running the FM 70 for a couple months now I am happy with the sound.

The MPG has not changed any still getting 14.8 to 15 MPG.

The power seems better climbing hills just not a race car but seems to climb much easier.

If I was going to do it again I would not done it saved the money I wanted the extra MPG the HP is nice but it not a race car.:chair:
