hello, I wanted to update the status. I hooked it up and everything worked exactly as planned! I found the amp exactly where you said it was (just to the right of the steering column) and wired it to the input converter based on the colors posted. If anyone wants to see pictures just let me know. I appreciate the help tremendously and I could not have done it as cheaply without you guys! :happy160:

I have a 96 Yukon. From the research I've done I think mine would be the same place. Is that it right there?

Hmm all I see is this. Don't think it would be the amp though am I correct? I'll feel around and attempt to pull the carpet up to see.

well the 96 had the abs module to the right of the steering column. Anything safety has yellow wrapping tape or yellow connectors. can you get me the wire colors of the unit under the seat to track it further?

Might be a keyless entry module next the the abs as well.

I feel special. I was looking at the wrong set of wires near there before I just looked. But the colors are Tan. Brown. White. Red. Black. Blue. Dark Blue. So that would mean its the amp right?

Well the wires match. Stick a voltmeter on the black and orange wires on the connector. If the volts come up with the ignition on then the stock radio turned on then that is definitely it.
