Ok, time to finish the install. With the custom 500 lbs shock we cut the end of the old rear gate shock and welded it to the new. The new shock was a little short and the treads on the stock ends were M8 and the new ones were an M10. We rethreaded the end, everything worked out great. With the new shock holding 500 lbs we had to realease some of the pressure out. So I ordered and new one from Ace that lets out the air slowly this tool broke so fast because it could not handle the pressure, it broke that tool into two. I went to Homedepot to find and M10 extention and a screw so we could mount the pin to the screw tool to realease the pressure. Home depot had nothing so I went to Fastenal and ordered a custom M10 extention and a screw that feeds through the extention. (It took about 5 days to get the part) We cut a hole in the extention so the air could escape. So we screwed on the extention to the end of the shock, stuck the pin inside and started screwing the screw in the extention slowly. Air started flowing out. We tested it with the rear door with each little realease. YES, it worked. So the door opens and closes with a push of a button. BUT, SHIT we forgot to add the weight of the cover. So, now too much air was realeased. Luckly I ordered two shocks at $52.00 a POP. We mounted the cover that needs to be sanded down and rhino lined. Cut off the end of the old shock and mounted it the the second new one. Realeased some of the air and yes again it works with the cover on. it can hold another 20 lbs, so the rhino line will hold. The cover will be rhino lined at the end of the week and i will take pictures. I have to get to bed I am tired.
