Intermittent starting

Just picked up an 07 Tahoe with 132k miles about 3 weeks ago. 2 days after buying it I had a no start issue. Cranking over but no start. Took it back to the dealer where they replaced the fuel pump. All was well for about a week. Now been having the same issue. Could start perfectly fine for a few days, the no start. This morning started fine ran some errands started perfect everytime. Just now go outside to put it in the garage and no start. Will spit and sputter if I hold my foot on the gas but won't start. IF..it does it blows a bunch of black smoke so obviously flooding it. Any suggestions? Fuel pump was replaced already.

They could've put a defective pump in. Have you checked your fuel pressure with a gauge, while cranking it. Also check the pressure while it's running, and while it's off--how much pressure will bleed off.

Back when I had my 95, I had start/stall issues for a while chased it, replaced fuel pump, wore out my starter, went through numerous relays. Check your oil pressure sensor, 0 pressure reading will keep the fuel pump from running, mine was intermittent and was killing me.

I would start by checking the fuel pressure as previously stated, you can rent a fuel pressure tester from autozone should be like $20 or so which they give back to you when you return it, so it's basically free to use with a deposit. the pressure port is on the passenger fuel rail (middle) looks like a inner tube plug with a screw cap on it. I am not sure what the pressure should be when you turn key on but I think it should be 50lbs I could be wrong
