Intro - Better late than never.

Hello, of course I'm new to the site, but I'm an old school auto enthusiest. I tend to go overboard on mods once I get the fever and my new Z71 already has me feeling a bit warm. "RedRocker" is a nickname I was givin back in the late 90's mostly due to a red mustang fox body coupe that I went nuts on, with audio equipment, suspension, tires/wheels, subframe support, 3 different block/heads/intake combination, PA Trannys, supercharged too - I eventually had it running high 10's in the quarter and I'd drive it home when I was finished. It would catch some nice air at the tree and when I wasnt flooring it, I was rockin to about 1500 watts of PPI powered components with 3 subs in the trunk. The sub install took its toll on my trunk along with the battery, and once I installed the roll cage and safety harnesses, that left me no choice but to remove the back seat and believe it or not that was pretty much the turning point of loosing interest in the car for the simple reason I could no longer take my whole family for a thrill ride or to the track unless I trailered it and drove my truck. I grew up being a die-hard ford fan and it wasnt till '08 I decided to give chevy a shot. Fastforward to today..... I picked up a nice Bermuda Blue 07 Z71 last summer. Right away I wired in a pair of 12inch Kicker Solo Classics with an Alpine PDX 1200.1 right next to 2 stinger batteries all behind the 3rd row - also put a full size stinger battery up front under the hood. My future mods including finishing up my audio system with a new HU, JL audio components, and a 4 channel Alpine PDX - getting it to properly interface with all the other bells and whistles is do-able, but tricky so it seems. I also want fairly soon to install a belltech 2/3 spindle drop and see if I can score a deal on some factory 20's. If my wallet and marriage survive all this, down the road I want to look into some performance mods. Nothing crazy, but a nice intake/head/cam set-up with a tune would probably serve me well. Well thats me in a nutshell, Im here to learn from all the experiences you guys share and I'm pretty good about speaking my mind if I think any of my experiences could help anyone else. Yeah, had a 17 year run of having at least one stang in the garage, some of that time two. I drove a friends GTO one day and thought it'd be a fun car to play with and that pretty much ended my mustang streak. The GTO was nice indeed, but mods became too expensive, (ok raising a family is the real reason). Since my mustang days Ive pretty much left cars alone with the exception of audio systems - Im ready to get back into modding and think I could have some fun with this Z71. The 2012 Mustang GT's look pretty dang tempting tho, thats for sure.
