Whats up everyone. First time poster so I'll give a little background info about myself first. ASE certified Master Tech with around 10 years in the business. Mostly worked with GM dealerships but also some performance shops and currently franchised store. Been a GM fan (specifically LS engines since they came out). Know the engines pretty well throughout. Formerly owned a 98 Firebird Formula 6speed. that was nicely built NA with milled heads, moderate cam and boltons made 377rwhp.

Now onto the recent purchase.

2002 Yukon Xl SLT fully loaded 2wd. 181k and from a single owner. Picked it up for $2800 off Craigslist. Previous owner took awesome care of it. Has 2 manageable rust spots I plan on taking care of with tax return.

Only issues with it are intake gaskets (which I have) inner tie rod (already replaced and aligned), small tailshaft seal leak, and water pump seeping. ABS pump motor shorted out (not to worried about it right now)

Put around 600 miles on it so far and yet to skip a beat.

Plans for it are mild drop maybe 2/3 or 3/4 inches some decent GM 18's or 20's and long tubes and tune. May go ls1/Ls6 intake and electric fans. Just enough to wake it up a little but not kill gas mileage even more. Bought it primarily as a family hauler and for the 5.3L

Welcome! Looks like a clean Yukon to start with. I vote OEM 20's or 22's and 3/4 drop.

Welcome! Got a pretty clean ride to start with. And shall I say unmolested lol.
So where are you located ? 2wd and rust usually aren't a normal combination

Also vote for 3/4 with 20s or 22s. :D

Located just north of Columbus Ohio. It was garage kept most of its life hence the lack of any larger rust areas.

Still going to do the basicsame for around here like all new brake lines and hoses. I can knock those out in 4 hours so not to worried about it.
