Inventory or Order?

I currently have a 2021 Honda Pilot Elite AWD with just over 70k miles. I'm considering selling it and buying a 2025 Tahoe or Yukon. Like others, I'm not sure what the tariffs are going to do to the pricing. I'm not seeing a lot of Tahoes or Yukons at the dealers. Will I pay a premium if I order one? When does Chevrolet/GMC stop taking orders for the year? Thanks.

I like ordering what I want but ordering from GM or Ford is a lot different than ordering from Toyota. I know the diesels were a bit slow moving but seems to be light at the end of the tunnel. I would reach out to several dealers in your vicinity and see what’s possible.

I ordered my ‘24 Yukon XL SLT diesel in mid Feb last year and it was in my driveway 2 months later in Nova Scotia. My local Toyota dealer told me 12-18 months at that time to order a Sequoia lol.

I’m sure once this LZ0 diesel backlogs eases in the coming weeks you’ll be able to get one soon. Only thing to be mindful of is the 2025’s seem to be a lot less customizable in terms of options which is annoying.

Dealers don't order diesels for stock. If they order a 10-15 they "might" order one or two diesels. Vast majority of their customers don't understand them and don't want them. If you want one and want one the way you want it.... you need to put it in an order and just wait it out. The end result is well worth the wait.

I meant “get one soon” as in order being accepted and delivered in a more timely fashion.

In Canada, though, I would say diesel stock is a bit more common. That was my experience last Jan/Feb before I ordered my 2024. Our gas prices are lot higher than in the states so a 25-30% improvement in fuel economy is even more meaningful here.

Thankfully the garbage carbon tax got scrapped this month so gas prices have come down a bit.

That may be less-incentivized to haggle on one you order vs. one on the lot, but you can order one without ALL the options, vs. what's mostly on the lot, so you'll probably save some money there. This hour's tariff status is unknown, and how it will change is a complete unknown, so if you want/need a new vehicle now-ish, find inventory or order it now. Otherwise, wait until all the silliness settles down. IF tariffs affected pricing, though, the afterward may be kind of problematic as I wouldn't see prices coming down much and for a while.

When we ordered our 1500 AT4 in February, we signed the order form. The sales guy said that locks us in on the price and rate. I have no clue at this time whether or not any added 'taxes' will be applied when we show up to purchase it, but I'll be standing behind the signed order form if that's the case. It works both ways.

We should know in a few days. The truck is being shipped to the dealership as I type.
