Best way to find out is to hook up a DMM to it and measure the current supplied to the inverter. I would have thought that it would not if the switch is off, but if it is a soft switch that has electronics to disconnect power, then the electronic circuit may have a significant drain. Mine has a rocker switch that I leave in the off position when I'm not using it and I don't have any problems. That said though, my inverter is connected to the aux battery which is isolated from the main when the ignition is off. I also drive mine pretty much every day, so it gets charged often.
