Invision DVD headrest

The fuse for accy/run is 10 amp and the fuse for run/start is also 10 amp.
I get my power for my DVB-T receiver and CARPC from the accy/run connection and the continuous draw is about 3.1 amp and it works fine, so i assume it should work for the headrest DVD's also.

I understand correctly that the factory harness of your headrest DVD is only using run/start and ground for power?

The Invision Representative told me that each player can pull up to 10 amps a piece so that will not work.

That can't be correct.
I have DVD headrests also (other brand) and they are using 1,5 amp per headrest.

Besides, the run/start fuse is only 10 amp, and the Invision headrests are connected on that pin, under the dash right?

No the instructions have you tap onto open terminal on black junction box down by hood release right next to the black and grey connectors. It requires direct power from battery with key on. I checked amperage draw on mine it was about 8.3 amps per screen so Brian was close in saying 10 amps each.

OK to make things easyer i found this pic, you plug the power harness of the Invision DVD headrests in this junction box at position 2 right?

If i understand correctly there are 3 pins on that position, ground, hot all time, accessory.

The harness of the Invision has only two wires, so i assume these wires are connected to accessory (because the system turns off after key is removed)and ground.

If the system really is using 20 amp max for 2 headrests, that means it uses more then the fuse can handle of the accessory pin of the junction box, so that's why i am stunned.
Also, like i said before, my system draws only up to 3 amps for two headrest dvd players, there is a huge difference between 20 amps and 3 amps

How and where do you measure the power usage of the dvd headrests?

To make things even more interesting, i just got this reply from Invision:

Our headrest DVD systems require a connection to any 12 volt accessory location in the vehicle. At startup each headrest will peak at 3.2 amps and operate closer to 2 amps for the duration of your viewing. Please let me know if you have any additional questions.

I tapped into the RSE control panel behind the center console. Gently pry the panel off and tap into one of the wires back there. Use a multimeter and you'll find the right one.

I just bought a set off ebay but its missing the power and ground cord. Im hoping this is true and i can just link into center console somewhere.

Bringing back a super old one here, but does anyone know if you can hook these up to a front DVD system? I've installed a Pioneer 4100NEX and these were already installed when I got the Tahoe, so I'd like to output from the 4100NEX to these as rear displays. I know I "could" run to the RCAs on them, but that's not ideal.
