Just picked up a 64G Ipad 2 3g model, i will be relocating my A/C controls and pioneer Double din radio and putting in the dash.
It will be removable, most likely will slide in from the side and dock, and sync with the stereo.

it may take a lil bit, im still brainstorming on how excatly i want to make it happen. im open to any suggestions.

heres a lil preview :)

You might want to give this thread HERE a read. This particular member went a little more in-depth with his project, but the idea is very similar. Maybe it will help you with your brainstorming. Unfortunately, he never posted back with pictures of his final install, but I think you can get the idea. Keep us updated on the project, and Good luck!!

I always thought a flip up setup where the cupholder tray is would be a much more natural setup for an iPad ... upshot, no need to butcher dash.

I was watching some videos on YouTube and came across these. I thought I would pass them along. Obviously, some of these installs are rather costly and involved, but they offer some good ideas to think about.

Actually, if you look at the comments for the second video link, that audio place quoted someone about $850.00 (not including the iPad). So, yes, it could cost anywhere from $1500-$2000 if you have it done professionally, but if you do the work yourself, and get a good deal on an iPad, the cost won't be too unreasonable.
