Looks good and expensive. How much u in it already? Will like to see how it ends and maybe you should think of doing this to other peoples cars. It is custom and can bring in some good loot. Doesn't the iPad have blootooth already? What's the bloototh that you put on the truck for?

All it's cost me so far is a 64GB 3G/WiFi iPad and an iOplay handsfree kit. iPad £300, Handsfree £50. In your money that's almost $580. The added bonus being that I can take the iPad out and use it anywhere. Can't do that with a normal head unit!

The MDF and other bits were all lying around my workshop gathering dust, as were all the different guage wires. Oh, I tell a lie...I did pay another $4 on 100 snap connectors.

iPad does have Bluetooth already which is part of the reason I went with a handsfree kit. It syncs up with the iPad and my iPhone the second I turn the key. It is also less wiring to bother with (in fact it only has a power lead from the back of the iPad holder). Add to that the fact that when I get a phone call or my TomTom app wants to give me a direction it pauses/turns down the volume of the music. It also gives me the option of listening to someone else's tunes if they have a Bluetooth phone or similar device.

Gonna do some more to it very soon. So will cuck up some new pic's. May be putting off hacking the bezel up just yet. I does scare me!

Just a quick one... well kinda...

I've decided to beef up the wattage and replace the stock amp. Actually, I'll be running two so that I get independent control of front and back levels. Had a bloody nightmare with all the wiring. Got it all sussed now though.

Wouldn't want you guys going through the same stress so I hope this helps you...

To/From head unit:

FRONT DOORS: (Speaker and Tweeter)
LF-: Grey
LF+: Tan
RF-: Dark Green
RF+: Light Green

REAR ROOF: (these wires go to the speakers and also act as INPUTS for the amp)
RR-: Light Blue
RR+: Dark Blue
LR-: Yellow
LR+: Brown

Ground: Black

Display Dim : Purple/White (linked to interior lights dimmer)

Fuse Out: Grey

Amp Feed: Pink (runs to a relay. see below for more on this)

Fuse Out: Yellow (fuse 17 10A)

Battery: Orange (fuse 19 10A)

To/From Amp:

(the following wires are INPUTS/SOURCE for an amp)
RR-: Light Blue
RR+: Dark Blue
LR-: Yellow
LR+: Brown

(the following wires are all OUTPUTS which only feed the rear doors)
RR Door+: Red
RR Door-: Tan
LR Door+: Tan (this is not a typo; there are two tans but it's obvious which is which)
LR Door-: White

Relay Signal: Orange (this is your remote/trigger/accessory. it turns the amp on!)

Ground: Black (probably ignore this and connect your amp ground to a seat bolt)

FEEL FREE TO REPOST THIS GUIDE!! There are so many opinions and plenty of different wire colour charts out there to aid you through installing your own system. If I'd have had this COMPLETE list it would have saved me heaps of trouble and hours of research.
SHARE IT!!!
