I ordered the parts and the wire harness. I forgot to order the metal pieces that go on the end of the wires when you pull them out of the existing harness. So, I ended up using the existing harness instead, but I used pliers to surgically break off the white plastic on the left side of the harness (wires close to my body, looking down the wire harness). The ridge on top of the harness broke off and then I used a screwdriver to scrap off any rough areas. I then pushed it in carefully to make sure the 6 holes lined up (only 3 wire holes are critical), as I did not want to bend the 6 connectors on the new module.

I turned the car on, and everything works. I put the cover back on (wife friendly), and tested w/the iPhone X on top of the front middle console - still worked. All good. Thanks to everyone here for the help tracking down the parts.

I used this link for reference (great pictures of before/after).

There must be variations in the hardware used by GM. I tried thecheddarnut hacks on my 2016 Denali and neither removing only the magnet or then removing the "repeater" worked for me. The best I got was about two seconds of charging when in direct contact between the module and my iPhone X. It didn't work at all when the module was installed back into the console lid. I am moving on to installing the 2018 module (GMC part number 13521066) in my 2016.

I can also confirm that the 2018 module works in my 2016 as well. Only parts needed are the module and the new plug. Super easy to switch out and was probably faster than doing the magnet delete.

New module on the left, old on the right.

I added the 2018 unit today, now it works like it should from the factory. Very happy with the outcome and being able to use the wireless charging feature. Thank you to everyone involved in finding the solution!

I am looking to add wireless charging to my 2015 burb. I don't think mine came with wireless charging (believe that was added to later models) How hard would to be to add the 2018 module? Any idea how I would power it?

Mine is still working just fine with only removing the magnet. I have noticed though that if I put the phone on the charging pad right after starting the truck and before it has paired to it via bluetooth, it won't charge. If I put the phone on the charging mat after the bluetooth connection has been made, it charges just fine. Odd since the bluetooth connection should not play a role in the wireless charging at all but whatever, overall still works just fine.
