I have a 05 Tahoe w/ navigation and XM. I want to keep the factory radio. Less of a reason for someone to steal it. But on topic, i want to add a ipod to it. I want to be able to plug it in and control it through the nav radio. Not by using the ipod it self. (make sense) I have researched and came across something called Isimple, sold at bestbuy, says it uses your factory radio interface. And also i have come across Coastaletech... lockpick.

I have never heard of either of these, so any info given greatly appreciated.

Does anyone have either of these or have experience with these.
Advice, opinions all welcomed.

yea when i searched for this it comes up with the pac, but i see nothing on any of them about being able to use the factory radio interface instead of the ipod. If it is then im reading through to fast. And also the ones i saw are old, i would rather now about the new stuff. b/c ive read through google some problems with the lockpick, on on this forum all i found was for the newer tahoes not like mine and they are different. Also, im trying to get as much feedback as possible before i put down $150 or so just for ipod use.

Thanks i'll look into what you have.

ditto. I installed it while parked outside my son;s school waiting for him to get out. And all the new ones do iphone/nano/touch charging too.

other than touching the phone to say NO to airplane mode when I first plug it in, I don't have to touch the unit at all.

and it comes with harness for both the t800 and the t900, so if i upgrade vehicles i can use it again.

You guys who are running a 03 and up chevy with xm radio have to wait no more for the quality of sound with your ipod through your car stereo! You don't need any expensive wiring harness or any fm modulators. I found a article from another forum and decided to give it a shot and it worked great.

Here is what i started with:

I took some wire and connected it to the correct places to hook up to the black 12 pin connector on the back of the radio (brwn/wht, black/wht, dk green, wht):

After hooking all the wires up and mounting the 1/8 stereo phone jack all you do is plug in a patch cord found at radio shack and attach your ipod or iphone or even any mobile media device with that has a phone jack just like head phones, and play your favorite music.

and this is the same set up i did on a tbss. This mod will also work on all tbss from 06-08 with xm radio. The xm still shows the artist and all the info but the jack bypasses the signal and uses the input signal until it is disconnected.

I have the Ipod lockpick. Works pretty well, but is a little squirrelly when trying to swotch between sources (Ipod and XM) and when choosing playlists.

Typo alert... I meant "switch" between sources...
