Just need a tune for the fuel system, I didn't do anything to my oil pump, you will need hardened 7.4 push rods, I didn't do lifters, you will need springs, I did my cam swap like 4-5 months ago and I just barely did my torque converter 2 weeks ago.

I spent about $1K in parts for the cam, springs, seals and gaskets, and fluids.

what i mean is that with the original cam your engine will only rev up to 6k but with the cam you get in increase to where your shift points can increase to lyk 6300rpm

honestly before the cam i raced a nnbs single cab truck with same engine stock..my truck is wayyy heavier and it went even with the truck and that is without the proper tuning done to it..with a stall converter im sure it will be even better..honestly if you do your research and look at online classifieds especially at ls1tech or performancetrucks.net you will find parts that you need at great deals sometimes even new parts..i spent 1k for my cam spring pushrods fluids gaskets and even with labor

Thanks for all the feedback guys this is pretty awesome. I was thinking about going through Shane at J&S performance in Lakewood to do everything and I plan on talking to him as well. I will update once the final decision is made.

Yea, I'm in Denver and those guys do everything on my Denali. Don't have any good pics yet. They just did my Longtubes and exhaust and they recently put a pic up on their fB page. I will take some pics of it after I wash it, then I will post them here

Spoke to comp cams they said the best mild cam that will increase responsiveness, low end power and wake her up even more would be comp cam 54-414-11 with upgraded springs, rods, and all the other good stuff. Anyone have experience with this cam with a similar set up as mine?

that cam is a 216 220 .525 lift which is almost identical to mine but mine has a slightly higher lift..i have the trick flow cam and it woke up my tahoe big time after the swap and tune...now i can take 4.8 and 5.3 single cab silverados with my mods and i have a 5.3 not a 6.0 like yours wich should gain some good power
