...Have the truck roll forward @ 4"-6" while it's in park?

If I have the truck parked on level surface, and I lean against the rear bumper to reach for something inside the cargo area, the truck rolls forward before holding.

Is that normal to have that much "play" in the drivetrain? I don't recall experiencing this with any other vehicle. And this thing is big and heavy!

If it's NOT normal, which I contend, then what would allow this to happen? What's not as it should be?

Thanks!

hhmm 4-6 inches seem alot to me way to much. That is one of the reasons that I always set the parking break before shifting to park. I dont know what to tell u on this sorry.

Actually, 4"-6" isn't as much as it sounds, but check your u-joints and slip yoke for play. Not likely it's a probelm in the transmission or rear diff.

KM, can you get an exact distance measurement for comparison?

Maybe. I'll see if I can do that.

In the meantime, it moves enough that my wife noticed, saying "Whoa, the truck just moved!" There's no way it's normal. Just no way...
