Well, I wasted an hour of my life this morning going to the dealership. The counter guy said I was going to have to go for a ride with a tech, and when I did that, and when I heard and felt the symptoms, his response was, "Nope, I don't hear anything. I feel like I'm riding in a nice truck." It was pointless.

When he mentioned that the shock sounds/feel I reported could be due to the tire pressure, and when I mentioned that I just had GM 22"s put on and knew that the tire pressure was appropriate, he said, "Wait, so you modified the vehicle from how it came from the factory?" What a joke. I knew it was pointless going any further with him.

Oh -- he also informed me that if there was a problem with the shock, I'd get a CEL. I guess it's just that simple. :emotions122:

Sounds like we go to the same guy lol

KMeloney,

Did you notice the 4-6” of movement before you had your new wheels installed? As well as your shock issue?

Thank you,

The way park works, is that the output of the transmission has flat square "teeth" along the outside. The housing it is in has a tab that pokes through the housing that will lock in-between the square pegs. Well, if the tab pokes through and lands on the outside of one of the square pegs, it will not become engaged until the transmission moves one way or the other. Park on a hill and it won't do it... your car will lurch the second you let go of the brake pedal.

This isn't a problem specific to Tahoes/Yukons/Eskys, this is a problem that comes from most cars that are automatics (to a varying degree).

Yes, I've noticed it for a while now. It may also be associated with the fact that when I park on an incline at work, the truck sometimes rolls forward that same amount or more before "grabbing" in reverse. And since I park facing a railing, drifting into it wouldn't be good.

I appreciate your interest, Elizabeth. This guy wasn't going to hear/see/feel anything I've been experiencing no matter what.

The funny thing was that, by the time I went to leave the service area, there were two Tahoes, a Suburban, and a Yukon all in line for the service bay -- and this at a place that services all GM (and maybe other make) vehicles. I wanted to take a poll to see what issues these other folks were having -- or, just tell them not to waste their time.

Thanks, Steve. I appreciate that info.

Thanks, Elizabeth. I'm good for now. If it persists, or gets worse, I'll PM you. Thanks!
