Doesn't sound right. My truck doesn't move at all when in park, at least that I've noticed. Even without the parking brake on...

SW CT,
I would say a couple inches is normal movement...4-6 no way..something is up and probably the reason for the shuddering your feeling too.

Thanks for the replies -- except for Soulsea's. LOL (Kidding. And yes, I got the jokes -- I was just hoping that by ignoring them they'd go away..) haha

Thanks, folks. It's dealer time again.

KMeloney,

Some movement is normal however there is no specification for this. I would recommend you to compare yours to a like vehicle. Please let me know what your dealership has to say.

Thank you,

In certain situations it feels like it will roll alot. Sometimes on level surface the truck might not be all the way clicked in to Park lock and when you lean on it you get alittle play of it locking in and then the play of the normal roll makes it seem like alot. I'm gonna guess that its normal.

Elizabeth -- it's normal for these trucks, or all vehicles? 'Cause I've never experienced this with any vehicle before, including my previous ('02) Tahoe. I appreciate your feedback, but there's nothing "normal" about this. It may be a "common" problem, but it sure isn't "normal."

KMeloney,

I only looked up information for the Tahoe, but I will check into others as well. I have owned several vehicles that would move when you pushed on them. Not a lot, but they did move a little. There was never any issue with any of mine. However, not every vehicle is the same and I completely understand that. Moving 4-6 inches would have me worried as well. Did you bring this movement to your dealer attention?

Thank you,

Thanks, Elizabeth. The truck goes in on Wednesday for a series of things. I'll keep you and everyone posted.

KMeloney,

No problem. The movement is normal for all vehicles; more so with four wheel drive vehicles. I look forward to your update.

Thank you,

Well, I wasted an hour of my life this morning going to the dealership. The counter guy said I was going to have to go for a ride with a tech, and when I did that, and when I heard and felt the symptoms, his response was, "Nope, I don't hear anything. I feel like I'm riding in a nice truck." It was pointless.

When he mentioned that the shock sounds/feel I reported could be due to the tire pressure, and when I mentioned that I just had GM 22"s put on and knew that the tire pressure was appropriate, he said, "Wait, so you modified the vehicle from how it came from the factory?" What a joke. I knew it was pointless going any further with him.

Oh -- he also informed me that if there was a problem with the shock, I'd get a CEL. I guess it's just that simple. :emotions122:
