My 2001 chev tahoe has had a hesitation on acceleration. It happens when I start and put it in gear and drive away. It's worse in the morning on first startup. It always starts with no issues. I've done the usual tuneup included a fuel filter but nothing helped.

I tested my fuel pressure with a digital gauge from a gm dealer and it gave me some odd readings. At startup the pressure primed to 53 psi and then during idle and when I let off the pedal it stays around 47-49psi. One wide open throttle the highest I've seen is 57psi.

Do these seem low?

Not sure about the pressure readings but you can clean the MAF with MAF cleaner from autoparts store and clean the throttle body and check air filter. All cheap things to start off with. Is it throwing any codes?

Fuel filter has been changed and throttle body has been cleaned. Maf has been cleaned and exhaust has been checked for clogged catalytic converters.

I think it may be a engine issue. Now that it's cold I'm also getting a engine noise for about 2 minuets till it warms up a bit.

What kind of noise? If it's an annoying knocking noise, it's very common and can be fixed.

Since you've done all those things already, it's beginning to sound like intake manifold gasket (another common issue) Does it seem to be better after it's warmed up? Seen a few posts about this particular issue and it sounds familiar. Had mine replaced a few yrs back and it fixed a cold stumbling/idle issue. Good luck.
