So I went to a local transmission shop, a test drive with bi directional scanner revealed a miss fire with a flashing cel during the event, but the cel did not remain illuminated. I am going to get new plugs and wires and tackle that job myself. Hope that fixes it. Will also get another opinion on this.

Keep us posted! Hopefully it may not even be related to the trans

Update! Wish I had more info, but still not able to get the second opinion. Did purchase new plugs, wires, coils etc... and a bi directional scan tool, still waiting for that.
Watching the videos on the change out... looks like the passenger side will be the hard pard, remove wheel and fender liner for access. Driver side should be a little easier.
Any other ideas?
Still drives OK, as long as I do not go deep into the throttle. Will do another test when the scanner arrives.

Thinking I'm also on borrowed time as well as i have noticed a slight shudder and it does not happen all the time. Is the PPE version better than just gm version. i did not like seeing my transmission temp be in the 190's in 30 degree weather. Im only at 96K miles.

Plug the scanner in and take it for a ride. If TCC slip speed is excessive (50+ rpms) when duty cycle is high during the shudders, that tc is already shot...If you see that, drop the pan to look at the bottom for metal or burnt clutch material. If that stuff is also observed, yank the trans/tc, overhaul the transmission and install a new, upgraded torque converter.

As far as the bypass valve, simply flip the pill on yours so you have continuous fluid flow instead of spending $$$ on fancy TBVs.

Thank you for the advice. another question? Do those alum transmission pans that have the cooling fins work? I like that they come with a drain plug. Almost seems like its worth the investment with that.
