Is the 0411 pcm mod worth the trouble on a mostly stock truck?

This week I am going to order a tune for my 96 Tahoe, I had mostly forgotten about the 0411 mod until today when doing some research. On a stock truck and a truck that will stay mostly stock is this worth it? And what purpose does it serve? Thanks

I said this in another thread... Thought I'd share it here...

It processes faster then the black box and is capable of more tuning things... Like wat im not sure..? I havent gotten in2 the specifics of that but its a better pcm for ur truck... Think of it like ur truck came stock with an iphone and u upgrade to anything else basically...
But if I were u I'd wait 4 Sunlit...

But with a stock truck do you need the faster processing ability the 0411 provides? I understand if you swap a Gen III engine but does the Vortec 5.7 benefit much from it? Basically I plan on 1.6 roller tip stamped steel rockers, K&N filter, ported throttle body, MSD coil and ignition, headers, ORY, exhaust and a tune will I benefit any from a 0411 swap. When the motor goes it might get the GMPP HT383 but so far the 5.7 is running good

Also I read your sticky about the Mark VIII fans. How hot does it get where you live, and how does your AC work? I'm concerned because it gets 100°+ here in the summer and when I had a single C6 Corvette fan on my Trailblazer SS it wasn't enough. I swapped to dual F body fans and it works great.

YES!!! When you get it have it programmed for future efan control and if you want have lex bump the timing to require midgrade gas. leave the rest of tuning to Black bear. just make sure to give lex the current drive type, vin, gear ratio and tire size.

BTW I have some slightly use comp cam 1.6 roller tip rockers for sale.

And stop copycatting me.:D

when you are ready and you have an extra grand or so it can also be programmed for Coil Near Plug as well. no more dizzy caps to deal with.

I think with all those upgrades the 411 will b the cherry on top... I heard from a member 99yuk the 411 alone causes the truck 2 run significantly different... It changed the trucks personality and the way it ran...In a good way... His words not mine...

And thank u... The mark8 is doing fine... In Los Angeles summers are in the 80s &90s... And the mark8 keeps the truck at operating temps and the a/c cold... The only trouble is my mark8 set up is powered directly to the battery instead of an ignition source and the a/c is tapped at the accumulator... This would cause the mark8 2 run non stop... So I disconnected the the a/c tap, this caused the a/c to be cold only wen the truck got up 2 operating temps... So thats an issue im still having...

first thing i noticed at first start is that it didn't. it barely got moving and stalled out. second attempt it got up to speed slowly over 15 seconds time. no issues since. one personaliy trait different tho. is that when you start it warm it warm it does not idle as high for the first few seconds under the new pcm. cold start idle has dropped a tad bit too.

relay the a/c compressor power feed to trigger the relay using an isolation diode if you only have one relay.

actually was the flexalite controller. eventually the 411 will control them but i have to build it first. for now funding is holding it up. but he provisioning wires and temp settings are already in place.

for yours, draw out the way yours is wired up now and i will modify it. easiest way.
