So someone hit my 02' Yukon in the parking lot and bent the rear bumper, i have heard that you can "upgrade" to a newer style rear bumper. I tried watching some videos from the University of You Tube but they were contradictory to each other. One said a 2014 Silverado rear bumper will bolt right up, another guy said he had to weld up custom brackets to mount that bumper. A few others commented on swapping out their 02' bumper for everything from newer Silverado's to suburban's to Tahoe's. I figured this would be the place to go....someone on here has t have made a swap to a newer style rear bumper. I figured if i have to buy a bumper anyway, i might as well get something a bit newer.

I mean if you’re not into using the rear hitch you can do a bumper delete kit

I'd actually love to know the answer to this question!
So far, all I know is, I can go as far as '06 exterior, no problem ...

You can do a direct 14-18 rear bumper swap on NBS trucks so I don't see why you couldn't on a Hoe/Yuk? There are a ton of videos on YT of them.

2000-2006 Yukon, Yukon XL, Suburban and Tahoe uses the same rear bumper as the 1999-2004 Silverado or Sierra with the Stepside Bed.

So, a GMT800 pickup / suv rear bumper fits on GMT800 pickups & suvs interchangeably? OK, I guess ...

So tired of BS. That said,
if this is true, I'd love to see a GMTK2 rear bumper on a GMT800.

Here’s a 06 with a Silverado rear bumper and I’ve seen one with the newer 2019 style bumpers too I believe they bolt right up

2019+ requires some modification as the end fold in more than the preceding generations. Also, '14+ bumpers need a different hitch, as the GMT800 hitches require the support of the bumpers.

So, is this another way of saying,
I can't SIMPLY install a GMTK2 rear bumper on my GMT800, without also changing my hitch?

Is the GMTK2 hitch superior to the GMT800 hitch?
