I have attached my wiring layout, don't make fun cause I used paintbrush. I purchased this Noco 200 amp isolator for the dual battery setup to run a dvd player and power inverter while the truck is turned off for long trips. I installed it and verified via NOCO how to wire it but it didn't work right because it fried my alternator and battery that were 3 months old, yea me. Ive replaced the alt and battery and disconnected the isolator and everything works like it is supposed to. What is happening is that it will work initially when first hooked up and the system will charge normal, once I shut off and try to restart it the charging system stops working, throws the idiot light, and only puts out less than 11 volts. Sometimes the alt meters only putting out 3 volts sometimes 11 but never at the proper voltage after shutting off initially and restarting. Any thoughts?

The isolators I have used in the past don't use a 12v switched lead. The isolator is a big Diod. it charges both batteries while keeping them separate. Is it possible you have a bad unit?

The last one I used was a Victron Argo Diode Isolator. only 3 wires to hook up. The 2 batteries and the lead from the alt.

I also used a Cole isolator on my boat.

What year truck are you working with?

Your wiring diagram isn't correct either.
