I was driving down a gravel road with my wife and kids in the car. My yukon just straight up died in the middle of driving. Have it hauled to a friends house then start inspecting....all symptoms pointed to crankshaft position sensor so I changed it. So it started up but now it stalls when I hit a bump and obd2 code reader throws u1000, p0300 and a couple of other codes...one was for the evap system other aas for tire pressure monitor. So I still csnt figure out what is wrong with this truck. Anyone point me on the right track?

How new is the battery? Have you inspected all the ground and power cables and cleaned the connections? When you start getting a number of seemingly unrelated codes, there is a good chance you have a low voltage /poor voltage situation. These trucks hate bad grounds, low voltage and weak batteries with a passion.

I agree it sounds like a bad ground or positive cable corrosion/ loose connection. They are known to corrode inside the cable or where it connects to the end.

The battery isnt very old maybe 4 months but has not been holding charge since this started...we had found a stripped bolt to negative battery cable (side post) and replaced both bolts. Have checked and cleaned all grounds that I have found but not sure if I'm missing one. May need to replaced the ground wires just to make sure. Everytime code reader is connected it throws different codes!

I think I'm gonna replace the grounds because I have removed and cleaned connection points. I started the truck and grabbed one of them and the truck shut off...so I cleaned that connection point and seemed to sound better drove down the road and it stalled when starting back up the hill home and wouldnt restart

This happened to me on the highway in my 2000 Yukon XL. Looked down and the engine was off and we were coasting. Made it to the shoulder safely and called the tow truck. Long story short, bad fuel pump. They are known for these. I saw on the Silverado forum someone that had similar symptoms and suspected fuel pump. It wasn't his solution below.

"well just to give an update. I fixed the problem today. It was NOT the fuel pump. I have been doing some reading online and read about the fuel pressure regulator. It said if you remove the vacuum line and you can see gas on the end or if its wet from gas then the regulator is bad. I bought the part today at my local NAPA for $67. It solved the problem completely.

You can get the part from autozone for $45 , but I didn't have one anywhere close. Its a simple easy fix that took all of 10 minutes. just pull off a clip and the old part and new part on with new clip. simple as that, problem solved."

First does it have a remote start system? If so disconnect the bypass box. Mine had one and the bypass box was dieing so it would randomly not start at times. Plus check you ground connections under the drivers door inside the running board area there are two. Clean both. Mine were rusted and that cleared some other problems for me.

Once the bypass wire was connected back to stock last summer no odd things. Even was losing power to my windows and door locks.
