So to disect the link you sent...he powdercoated all parts so your looking at un-necessary increased cost there as the parts should have already come powdercoated so he must have wanted a change. Those are good bags and valves but the stainless steel lines are completely un-necessary and costly, regular DOT line with push lock fittings would do fine. Also this is one case, doesn't support your cause either. I'd like to see the parts vs install cost on his as well. Bag shops here have stiff competition and could possibly have a lot better hrly shop rates. If I cared enough to "win" this argument I'd call my local shop and ask them for a ballpark price on a "air ride" job that doesn't lay and see what they quote me....but I don't so you "win"
and no I'm not using "being under it to look" as a reference. I'm using "it was explained to me its the lowest you can go with rerouting exhaust and cutting some stuff. I honestly couldn't tell you with any degree of intelligence why it doesn't go lower lol" as a reference because I can tell you just from doing my drop it would take c-notching the frame to even come close to getting lower and the exhaust would have to be dumped before the axle in order to really get it down. It would take full tubbing of the rear end to actually lay but if that is what I wanted that is what I would have done
