That's the truth. The carpet in my 77 is black with my seats being charcoal and I have to vacuum the carpet constantly just to keep it clean! The reason I chose the black, though, was cuz it matched my dash and was a good contrast to my charcoal colored seats. The good thing about black, though, is that it doesn't show stains very much so that is a big upside especially if you will have people riding with you much. Other people aren't as careful with their muddy feet or spilled drinks as you would be! ;)

I may end up with black. That way I can reline my headliner in black to match the suede I have done already and am going to do.. Plus I like the idea of black/grey/white theme going on.

Decided to not buy my carpet yet, I need to get my electrical and my bass amp bought before I worry about doing all the interior... I'm supposed to be picking up a battery or 2 tomorrow, so I should have an update then.

Also I bought 50ft of 1/0 to get the extra batteries in and my BIG 3 done.. I'll order another 50 for the amp runs later.

Question: Can I have a dual purpose Marine Battery in the cargo area in a build box? Or would gasses escape, etc...?

Here's one to hold you off until today. I'm planning on getting the camera out and taking some of the outside now that I've painted some stuff. My main thing right now is $$$, lol. I'm gonna get my batteries and basically be broke for a bit. My next 3 big purchases will be my amp, carpet, and an alternator.

I'll be real interested to see your battery and amp setup with your system man. I'm hoping to get educated a bit with your build up! :waytogo:

Thanks man, I appreciate it.

I have a local guy with some Deka 125ah batteries for a really good price.. I'm supposed to meet with him today but I'm not sure on it. I'm trying to run a good Marine battery under the hood in addition to my stock battery and one Deka. I know a lot of people say that mixing batteries won't give full battery potential BUT this is a budget build, and I'm not running 10k watts, etc. So I will try this and if it fails I can always bump up to 2 Deka's under the hood and one in the cargo, or something similar. So I'll give this a try for now... For an alternator, I found one for $200, it's a 250amp @ 1200RPM, which should work well for me as long as I keep my batteries charged..

Just ordered one of these. The local was acting sketchy and I'm not into that kind of stuff. So I ordered one of these, I'll probably order another later on...

I agree.. I've gotten 2 iPhone's stolen at one time (a 3g and my two week old iPhone 4).... So if it's shady I just leave.

But oh well, this battery was around the same price, even though it's a lot less powerful.
