Dont you have to chop up the console and lose all the storage space for the JL box?

B.G., i agree. I thought about buying the box and ebaying the sub so I could put in my choice.

No....it takes up no extra space, you wouldnt know its there until you turned on some music. It involves removing the Bose sub/enclosure if you have it and replacing with the Jl box

i snapped this pic at a red-light.. i think its just a panel not the A/c vent so maybe i can have the console box.. ill check it in the daylight tomorrow and make sure

That is wrong...you must have this one:

your right.. i forgot they made 2 diff ones. they make one also for the az3 option center console i dont see the often in tahoes.

ok so i snapped a couple pics from both sides i still can't tell i have the A/c vents way up by the firewall.. i have the blower on the passenger side but there is still some space so i don't know if the console box will fit maybe you guys can check out these pics and let me know what ya think..

here is the passenger side you have the back of the bose box on the left and the blower housing i guess on the right


here is the drivers side after i removed the kick panel.. see the a/c vents on the left and bose box on the right. still quite a bit of room prob 6-8 inches from bose box to ac vents


here is my hand in there so give ya scale of about how much room.. but i dunno how big the MTX or Stealth box it..

The website also says it will not fit trucks with AC Vents at the back of the center console...I dont think any of the nnbs tahoes have that but if they then they cant have the stealthbox. Other than that you should be good to go.

Well guys and gals -
I decided to pull the trigger on the stealthbox in the original post.
It has the 2x10wO subs and mounts in the driver's rear window.

The amp they suggested is a JL Audio XD600/1 with a HD-LRC remote bass knob.

So that is what will happen here in the next week or so.

They did not stock the JL stealthbox so they had to order it; they said it would be here in a week or so.

So, all that being said, I should be able to report back to you all in the next week or two with some pics.

Well guys, I got the Stealthbox installed,
looks great, sounds great.

Here is an installed pic for reference:


overall, it is great - a little loud for my tastes but the remote gain knob for the amplifier makes it real easy to adjust.

They removed the factory Bose sub (they thought there may be some phase-cancellation from the stock sub) and were able to mount the amplifier inside the console where the subs used to live.

Thanks for all the feedback that pushed me over the edge to purchase this equipment.
