Today Started off good but ended in a lil frustration. I have been ordering parts after parts for the wifes SBC 350 build. I am trying to get it ready for Thanksgiving week because I have a 11 day spread thats all dedicated to the Jeep.
First I wanted to see how it will look inside the frame so I can figure out which headers I will have built.
Thanks to Advance Adapters as these guys have helped me a lot with info on clearances and SBC 350 conversion advice!
Their motor mounts are heavy duty and built per application. There will be a lot of motor rumble so you want the best mounts.
These motor mounts are NOT a bolt on application(Which Im sure
@Jonah52 is use to), they are a weld in. so location is specific.
I got the headers to go inside the frame rail and drop down right behind the starter. Another Advance Adapters fabrication. These allow you to put 90* plug elbows on with a shorter style header spark plug.
I also wanted to do a new rear main seal and oilpan and gasket before anything else. Motor already has mild cam and roller rockers. I wanted to make sure RM seal was replaced by me.
Its a 2 piece seal, so fairly easy to do on an engine stand.
Old seal out....half of new one in.
Next is oil pan and gasket.
New oil pan gasket, oil pan and starter on. I didnt go with a mini starter because space will not be an issue nor compression.
Lets get that fuel pump on and push rod in....
Mama likes chrome, so I figured I would give her some shine, starting with the timing cover.
Dry fitting the Harmonic Balancer.
Water pump, Alternator(with billet brackets) and HB pulley.
Power steering pump and billet brackets really add suttle accents to the face side of the motor.
I will be running Efans in here Jeep. I forgot to pick-up the WP pulley bolts from work,so thats why that isnt on yet. Or the PS pulley.
Once I get the plug wires and the other pulleys on, I will upload a pic right before i weld it in.
NEXT, will be the 700 r4 Tranny install and D20 Transfer case and custom built mount by me!
