Your transfer case might be toast if thats the case , thats what happened to mine . However I would check everything else out first.

I don't mind the door emblems but the big crest and Escalade have got to go. :/

I will end up TIG'ing this one if it needs it. Just have to find some mag filler rods at the shop. Since its kind of a small area over-heating will not be an issue and should be easy to "radiate" the area too. I'll post pics of the process if I remember to. I took the drive shafts out and it looks like removal of the cross beam there could be beneficial. Any input on this matter?

It makes it much easier but it is not required to remove the crossmember. You just have to get your angling right as you remove it. If an area on the t-case is overheating don't try to band-aid it. Investigate it.
