How did you get the badge off? heat gun or did you just pry it off

You take your grille shell off, then you remove the emblem from the back. It's just like 5 pressure tabs. Once you take it off, you can pryout the letters or just mask everything off and paint it. I didn't want to break my letters prying them out so I just masked it off and painted it.

I'm in the process of doing this mod right now, painting mine white. After clearing it there is some orange peel present and some parts are glossier looking than others. What are my options?

Should I sand all of and start over, or just try and wet sand the orange peel out with some 2000 grit?

Thanks all help is appreciated.

If you're doing a Chevy bow tie there is another thread, you remove all the foil/paint from the back and paint the back side. When doing mine I messed it up and had the front all clouded (my bad, I didn't follow directions), I sanded the front with 0000 steel wool, 2000 grit wet dry, then used my orbital buffer and my paint cleaner (Meguairs) and paint polish (Meguiars) and it looks good as new. If you've roughed up the outside in prep of painting it I'd strongly recommend trying to polish it smooth and clear again then paint it from the back. The paint can't get rock chiped that way and IMHO, it looks much better. I painted the outside border black and the whole inside red, looks real good.

I've got some pics on this page http://www.tahoeyukonforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=381&page=4
