I have a 2020 GMC YUKON 5.3 and i removed the resonator by the back bumper and the flapper valve. Literally no change in sound. I did the same on my 2014 and it sounded perfect for what i wanted. I thought it would have been the exact same sound enhancement but no. What's the best exhaust system/muffler just to get a little bit of sound. i don't want to hear it on the interstate with the stereo on. Just a tiny bit of sound so you know there's a v8 under the hood. Basically, the quietest aftermarket that's still louder than stock.

probably something like a 3 chamber flowmaster would likely fit the bill
they make them single/2 chamber/3 chamber, you should be able to look on there website and reference what I am referring too

Best Bet is probably Magnaflow.... Kirk Robinson and Exhaust Addicts on Youtube have a good amount of install videos with sound notes you can compare

I'd suggest the flowmaster pro series 3". That's what I have on my 6.2 with tsp long tubes, cats and 3" all the way out. Even with headers, the sound is civilized until you don't want it to be.

Corsa Touring cat back is the answer. Not cheap, but this week is the best time to look for one. I had the Corsa Sport on my 5.3 burb, and it never droned on hwy, but jolted neighbors awake on cold starts...

Did you ever measure the power loss on a dyno or at the drag strip by putting a 3 inch exhaust system on your truck in place of the 3.5" setup?

Nope, unless you count the ol butt-dyno. But my main goal was sound.
